North-South expressway project to select investors

Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Transport (MoT) will sell bidding documentsto select investors for the North-South expressway project in the comingtime, said Nguyen Danh Huy, head of the ministry’s Department of Public-PrivatePartnership (PPP).

He saidthat the feasibility studies on 11 sub-projects for the construction of the easternsection of the expressway project in the 2017-2020 period had been approved.

Accordingly,the MoT is selecting consulting units for those projects. Among the threeprojects using capital sourced from the State budget, the selections for the CaoBo-Mai Son and La Son-Tuy Loan are projected to run until the second quarter of2019.

Meanwhile,that of the My Thuan 2 bridge project will be carried out over nine months tofinish in the following quarter.

Huy addedthat the construction of eight PPP projects will start in the first quarter of2020, while the building of three public investment ones will begin next yearand aredue to be finished by 2021.

As manyas 654km of the east section of the North-South expressway is set to be builtduring 2017-2020, with a total investment of nearly 118.72 trillion VND (5.09billion USD), including 55 trillion VND from the State budget.–VNA
