Hanoi (VNA) – The 12th Central Committee of theCommunist Party of Vietnam (CPV) discussed in groups reports on the leadershipand instruction work of the CPV Politburo and Secretariat in 2018 during thefirst day of the committee’s 9th session on December 25.

Earlier, during the opening sitting, Party General Secretary and PresidentNguyen Phu Trong delivered opening remarks, in which he stressed that issues onthe agenda are all important, and participants must uphold their responsibilityto actively engage in discussions and issue a resolution at the end of thesession.

Politburo member and standing member of the Party Central Committee’s SecretariatTran Quoc Vuong presented a proposal of the Politburo on carrying out a vote ofconfidence for members of the Politburo and the Secretariat.

Themeeting continued with group discussions on the leadership and instruction workof the CPV Politburo and Secretariat in 2018.

Inthe afternoon, the Party Central Committee members studied documents andconducted a vote of confidence on the members of the Politburo and theSecretariat.-VNA

Foreign policy contributes to propelling Vietnam into new era

2024 saw Vietnam significantly expanding its diplomatic activities with numerous partners and at various important multilateral forums and mechanisms. The country’s key leaders conducted a total of 60 external activities, including paying 21 visits to foreign countries and attend major multilateral conferences, as well as hosting 25 delegations of foreign leaders to Vietnam.
