Deputy PM pays pre-Tet visit to departments of public security ministry

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh extended his best wishes to officers and soldiers of several departments under the Ministry of Public Security on January 30 during a visit ahead of the traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.

Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh extended his best wishes to officers and soldiers of severaldepartments under the Ministry of Public Security on January 30 during a visitahead of the traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.

At the event, Binh spoke highly of the public security force’sachievements in recent times, especially in fighting criminals, ensuringsecurity-order, traffic safety, and in preventing and controlling corruptionand drugs.

The Deputy PM affirmed that the Party, State, and people ofVietnam continue to keep in mind the efforts and contributions of the publicsecurity force.

Binh asked the DrugCrime Investigation Police Department to suppress illegal drug smuggling rings and drug-makingfacilities, as well as enhance drug prevention activities and internationalcooperation in the field.

Meanwhile, herequired the Criminal Police Department to efficiently tackle organised crime,new and non-traditional types of crime, and high-tech crime, among others.

The Deputy PM askedmembers of the department to ensure security and order during the upcoming Tetfestival, improve the effectiveness of information processing, and accelerateinvestigation into complicated cases, particularly those involving corruption.

Meeting with trafficpolice officers, Binh ordered them to improve traffic patrol and a better handlingof traffic safety violations. Mass testing on vehicles to detect drivers withhigh blood alcohol concentration, under the influence of drugs, or driving overthe speed limit are needed to ensure compliance with traffic law, he noted.

The Traffic PoliceDepartment was also asked to collaborate with relevant agencies to ensure the safetyof passenger transportation ahead of, during, and after the Tet holidays, aswell as do their utmost prevent major accidents.–VNA

UNFPA, KOICA pledge continued support to Vietnam to eliminate gender-based violence
