Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese futsal team lost 0-2 to the hosts Indonesia in the final match of the ASEAN Futsal Championship 2024.

The Indonesian team started the march strongly, showcasing their good physical fitness and determination, which allowed them to control the match effectively. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese team saw the absence of key players due to injuries.

Indonesia took the lead in the 8th minute with Muhammad's close-range tap-in. In response, Vietnam pushed up their formation in search of an equalizer. However, the good performance of the Indonesian goalkeeper and Vietnamese players' inaccurate finishing kicks prevented Vietnam from scoring.

In the final minutes of the match, the Vietnamese team applied a power play strategy but conceded another goal. While pushing forward and leaving their goal open, they lost possession, allowing Indonesia to score easily and seal the final score at 2-0 with just seconds left.

Vietnam have entered the finals of the Southeast Asian championships three times but have all finished second./.
