The office has, over the past 40 years, performed well its function ofconsulting the Party and State and supporting the ministries insearching for personnel listed as missing in action (MIA) during theAmerican war.

The effective settlement of the MIAissue in Vietnam has made important contributions to untangling theknots in the Vietnam-US relations, helping improve the bilateral ties.

Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc and deputy Chiefof the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Lieutenant General VoVan Tuan spoke highly of the contributions by the office as well as theeffective support from ministries, agencies and localities in the workMIA over the past time.-VNA
