Writing contest on Vietnam-EU ties launched

A writing contest themed “What impresses you most about the European Union. Let’s share your feeling and win a ticket to Brussels” has been launched as part of activities in respond to the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-European Union (EU) diplomatic ties (1990-2015).
A writing contest themed “What impresses you most about theEuropean Union. Let’s share your feeling and win a ticket to Brussels”has been launched as part of activities in respond to the 25thanniversary of Vietnam-European Union (EU) diplomatic ties (1990-2015).

Initiatedby the EU Delegation in Vietnam, the contest invites Vietnamesecitizens under 35 years old who are living and working in Vietnam. Itaims to enhance mutual understanding between Vietnam and EU, especiallyhelping the youth get an insight into the relations.

Through thecontest, young Vietnamese people are offered a chance to express theirknowledge, thoughts and feelings about EU and the EU-Vietnam diplomaticties.

The contest will last until May 5. An award ceremony willbe arranged in May. The winner of the contest will receive a round-tripair ticket to Brussels, Belgium.

EU is currently the leading export market of Vietnam with two-way trade hitting over 35 billion USD in 2014.

Meanwhile, Vietnam is the fourth largest trade partner of the EU amongASEAN countries, and the 30th among the union’s global tradepartners.-VNA

Hanoi waives public transport fares during Tet holiday

During the same period, the Hanoi Traffic Operation Centre, in coordination with bus operators, will also waive fares on subsidised bus services. The programme will apply to 128 subsidised routes citywide over the nine days, with passengers granted tickets according to route pricing but paying no fare.

NA Vice Chairwoman presents Tet gifts in Ninh Binh province
