The public and media of countries across the world keep praises General Vo Nguyen Giap who passed away on October 4.
In a special communiqué on October 5, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius expressed his condolences to the General’s family and all Vietnamese people, and saluted the deceased as a great fighter and patriot of Vietnam and an outstanding figure.
He said he was moved by the news on the death of the General who is loved and respected by all Vietnamese people and profoundly attached to the French culture.
Director of Argentina’s Cienflores publishing house Maximiliano Thibaut said that General Vo Nguyen Giap is a hero not only of Vietnam but of all revolutionary peoples.
The General proved to the world that once determined to win their national liberation, the suppressed people would surely reach the goal.
E. Glazunov, former Russia-Vietnam Friendship Chairman, recalled the memories of his meetings with General Giap in Hanoi and Moscow, calling him a brilliant military commander.

Four major RoK newspapers - Korea Herald, Korea Times, ChoongAng Ilbo and Chosun Ilbo – highlighted the General’s life and career during the fights for national independence. They praised him as a military talent in the 20th century.
