President Truong Tan Sang welcomed newly-accredited ambassadors from Italy, Mexico, and Hungary who presented their credentials to the Vietnamese State leader on May 27.

Receiving Italian Ambassador Cecilia Piccioni, the President expressed pleasure with the all-around cooperation between the two nations, especially the fast growing trade which has exceeded four billion USD.

He expressed hope that Italy will soon approve the Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation (PCA) and accelerate the signing of a free trade agreement between Vietnam and the European Union (EU), creating an impetus for economic and trade cooperation between the two nations and regions.

The President welcomed the G7 countries’ stance on the East Sea issue that advocates the settlement of all disputes by peaceful measures on the basis of international law.

For her part, Ambassador Cecilia Piccioni affirmed that on the basis of the strategic partnership signed between the two nations, the building of a joint action plan to increase bilateral cooperation will be given priority during her tenure.

Welcoming Mexican Ambassador Sara Valdes Bolano, President Truong Tan Sang underlined that the two countries should establish an inter-government committee to help promote relations.

He also urged the two nations to sign more agreements to facilitate business investment ties, in a bid to bring their two-way trade to over two billion USD.

The Mexican diplomat pledged to do her utmost to promote the political and trade relations between the two countries.

While meeting with Hungarian Ambassador Csaba Ory, President Truong Tan Sang said Vietnam always welcomes Hungarian investors, adding that thousands of Vietnamese who were trained in Hungary in the past are making great contributions to national development.

The Hungarian Ambassador pledged to ensure that Hungary-funded projects on social services and health care in Vietnam be implemented on schedule, while enhancing ties in education-training and cultural exchange.-VNA
