Hanoi (VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang talked with outstanding entrepreneurs representing the small- and medium-sized business community in Vietnam during a meeting in Hanoi on May 16.

He extolled the business players for implementing seriously the Politburo’s Directive No.03-CT/TW on studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals.

After the successful August Revolution in 1945, President Ho Chi Minh attached much importance to the development of businesses to fuel the country’s economy, he said.

He added that the Vietnamese Party and State has put forth a number of policies to encourage business evolution and promote the role of entrepreneurs in the cause of national construction, defence and development.

The Doi Moi (renewal) process initiated by the Party 30 years ago has witnessed significant and historical achievements, he said, noting that apart from opportunities and advantages, the country is facing numerous difficulties and challenges.

Therefore, the establishment of a strong, ethical and competent business staff with a high sense of social responsibility, effective operation and competition is significant, he said.

To that spirit, the President urged the businesses to strictly implement the Politburo’s Directive No.05-CT/TW issued on May 15, 2016, on promoting the studying and following of late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals.

He said the Party, State and people pin a lot of hopes on the business community to help the country avoid the “middle income” trap and proactively integrate into the world.

Enterprises should push ahead with business restructuring and applying advanced science-technology to improve their management capacity, productivity and competitive edge, he recommended.

At the same time, it is necessary to enhance investment cooperation to set up domestic and global production value and supply-demand chains, he suggested.-VNA
