Hanoi (VNA) – The press must truly become a bridge betweenthe Party, the State and the people, guiding and motivating the people to followthe Party and State's guidelines and policies, said Deputy Prime Minister TranHong Ha.
He made the request during a meeting held inHanoi on June 20 by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Informationand Education, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the VietnamJournalists’ Association (VJA) and the Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), on theoccasion of the 98th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary PressDay (June 21).

Conveying his heartfelt gratitude to alljournalists and the press nationwide for their proactive, positive, and dedicatedsupport of the Government, he wished that the press would continue fueling even stronger aspirations, resilience and determination in every citizen andbusiness, encouraging and motivating the spirit of innovation, contributing to successfullyachieving the socio-economic development goals this year.
At the event, VJA Standing Vice Chairman NguyenDuc Loi lauded many press agencies, journalist associations and unions foractively responding to the campaign on building a cultural environment in press agencies in connection with studying and following the thought, ethicsand lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh, with effective and practical modelsfrom the central to local levels.
Head of the Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia,for his part, stressed that the Party, the State, and the entire society alwayspay attention to the press, while recognising the role, mission, andsignificant contributions of the press in the field of information andcommunications.
The press agencies need maintain and uphold their pioneering and key role in communication work, working as a sharp ideological weapon of the Party and State in any stage of the country, he said, reminding them to build meticulousand thorough communication plans in preparation for the organisation of Party congresses at alllevels and the 14th National Party Congress.
Additionally, greateremphasis should be placed on cultivating a cultural environment within thepress agencies, he said.
The meeting also discussed a plan on preparations forthe 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day in2025./.
