Quang Ngai, Champassak strengthen ties

The central province of Quang Ngai and the southwestern Lao province of Champasak will continue to promote mutual and comprehensive cooperation on the occasion of the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2012.

This was remarked by Vo Van Thuong, the Secretary of Quang Ngai’s Party Committee , during his talks with adelegation from Champasak, led by its governor Sonphay Siphandone, onAugust 21.

At their working session, the two sides briefed each other on their socio-economic development and achievements resulting from their past cooperation.

Vo Van Thuong said he hopes that the two provinces will continue their annual exchanges, and have specific and practical cooperation plans to create favourable conditions for businesses from the two sides.

On this occasion, Secretary of Quang Ngai’s Party Committee Vo VanThuong and Chairman of Quang Ngai’s People’s Committee Cao Khoa, wereawarded with Laos’ Issara Order, second-class, for their contributions to the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between both provinces over the past years.-VNA
