Congratulations extended to new AU Chairman

State President Luong Cuong on February 28 sent a message of congratulations to President of Angola João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço on his taking office as President of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) and Chairperson of the AU.

Hanoi (VNA) – State President Luong Cuong on February 28 sent a message of congratulations to President of Angola João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço on his taking office as President of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) and Chairperson of the AU.

The same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh cabled a congratulatory message to Mahamoud Ali Youssouf on his election as Chairperson of the AU Commission.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son extended congratulations to Téte António, Minister of External Relations of Angola, on his assumption of the Chairmanship of the AU Executive Council./.
