Quang Ngai fosters partnership with Chinese locality

The Department of Foreign Affairs of the central province of Quang Ngai and China’s northern province of Hebei held an online conference on June 20 to discuss measures to boost their bilateral partnership.

Quang Ngai (VNA) – The Department of ForeignAffairs of the central province of Quang Ngai and China’s northern province of Hebeiheld an online conference on June 20 to discuss measures to boost theirbilateral partnership.

Briefing the Chinese side on the local socio-economicsituation, representatives of Quang Ngai said that the south-central coastallocality has a significant strategic location in Vietnam’s central key economicregion and the East-West corridor, serving as a gateway to the sea with theinternational maritime routes through the East Sea and the Pacific Ocean.

Last year, Quang Ngai’s GRDP scale reached 121.66 trillionVND (5.17 billion USD), ranking 18th out of the 63 cities and provincesnationwide and second among the localities in the central key economic region. Its transport infrastructure has continued to becompleted with a system of roads, waterways, railways and airports.

At the event, Quang Ngai's representatives proposed that the two sidescooperate in developing high-tech industries and spearhead industries such assteel, pottery, electricity, garment and textile, oil and gas, port, automobileand pharmaceuticals, as well aslogistics and supporting industries.

They also expressed interest to collaborate with theChinese locality in culture and tourism, including the organisation of jointtourism promotion activities, festivals, cultural and art troupe exchanges,while opening tours between the two sides.

Meanwhile, Hebei representatives said the locality is readyto strengthen the relationship between the two administrations, promotingpractical partnership in economy, trade, culture, education, and friendshipexchanges.

Hebei is also willing to strengthen bilateral ties in trade,culture, said the representatives, expressing their hope that travel firms of the twosides will foster their collaboration to encourage their people totour each other’s locality./.
