Quang Ngai rescues fishing vessel in distress

Authorities in the central province of Quang Ngai is making efforts to save a fishing vessel with seven fishermen on board, which encountered an accident while working near the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.

Quang Ngai (VNA) – Authorities in the central province of Quang Ngai is makingefforts to save a fishing vessel with seven fishermen on board, whichencountered an accident while working near the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.

The captainis Vo Duy Tien, 56, from Binh Chau commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai.

Ship Qng90134-TS left port on November 19. On November 27, its gearbox broke and couldnot be fixed, causing the ship to dock 50 nautical miles away from the Song TuTay island. The captain promptly called for urgent help.

The QuangNgai search and rescue agency has kept in touch with the vessel in distress andcalled on other boasts operating near its location to lend a helping hand.-VNA
