Quang Tri raises effectiveness of HIV transmission prevention

The 223,180 USD project, funded by the AsianDevelopment Bank (ADB), will be implemented in three districts of HuongHoa, Vinh Linh and Trieu Phong and Quang Tri town until 2017.

It will help enhance the professional capacity of health workers throughholding refresher courses and provide equipment to communal healthstations, particularly those in remote and border areas, while investingin epidemic monitoring systems at district and provincial levels.

The province now has 408 HIV carriers and AIDS patients. As many as 37new infections were reported in the first 11 months of this year,mainly men aged between 20 and 39.-VNA
