Rescued foreign sailors return home
The Border Guard Force and the Foreign Affairs Department of the
southern
province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on May 13 handed over nine foreign sailors,
who were
rescued on May 3 while floating in Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) sea
area.

The sailors include six Indonesian, two Malaysian and one Myanmar .
They met with an accident while being on board Malaysia flag cargo carrier Atlantis 3 en route from Malaysia to Singapore .
Speaking at the ceremony, Mochamad Alimudin POHAN, Indonesian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Government, particularly Ba Ria-Vung Tau provincial authorities for their care of the seamen during the past days.
He stressed that the action would help boost relations between Vietnam and regional countries./.
