President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) has congratulated Vietnam’s national football team and Korean head coach Park Hang-seo on their triumph at the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 on December 15.

Seoul (VNA) – President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Moon Jae-in hascongratulated Vietnam’s national football team and Korean head coach ParkHang-seo on their triumph at the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 on December 15.

In his Facebook post in Korean and Vietnamese on December 16, Moon said that hefelt the two countries have become closer friends after seeing Vietnamesefootball fans holding aloft the national flags of Vietnam and the RoK.

He recalled his trip to Vietnam in March when he met with Park and the footballplayers.

Also, he expressed his hope that both countries will continue building theirspecial friendship to open up a prosperous future.

Moon’s post attracted nearly 4,000 comments and over 200 shares after two hourspublishing.

Vietnam held the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup trophy againafter 10 years after tying with Malaysia 2-2 in the first-leg final of the AFFCup on December 11 and beating Malaysia 1-0 in the second-leg final in Hanoi onDecember 15 night.-VNA
