Russian Communist Party values ties with Communist Party of Vietnam

Hanoi(VNA) – The Communist Party of the RussianFederation (KPRF) has always treasured and wants to expand its relationshipwith the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), stated a Russian official.

Leonid Kalashnikov, member of the KRPF’s Presidium,Secretary of its Central Committee, head of the Committee on Commonwealth ofIndependent States Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots,and President of the State of Duma’s Friendship Parliamentarian Group withVietnam, made the statement to his host Hoang Binh Quan, head of the CPVCentral Committee’s Commission for External Relations, during his reception inHanoi on April 22.

At the meeting, the two sides informed each other on theirparties’ current affairs. They agreed that plans for future cooperation betweenthe two parties will revolve around the organisation of the Vietnam Year inRussia and the Russia Year in Vietnam to mark the 25th anniversary of thesigning of the treaty on the fundamental principles of the Vietnam-Russiafriendship and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of bilateraldiplomatic ties in 2020.

Kalashinikov said the KPRF wants to work with the CPV tosupport Vietnamese and Russian businesses and localities in engaging in projectsin investment, finance, banking, and tourism.

Quan affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State haveprioritised boosting the nation’s traditional friendship and strategiccomprehensive partnership with Russia and value its close relations with theKPRF.

He praised the KPRF’s ideas on cooperation in contributionto the growth of Vietnam-Russia ties in economy, trade, and investment.–VNA
