Hanoi (VNA) – Singapore’s retail sales in October rose by 7.5 percent annually after registering a 6.8 percent increase in September, reported the Department of Statistics Singapore (DOS) on December 3.

The DOS attributed the result to new product launches that boosted mobile phone sales.

Retail sales came to 3.6 billion SGD (2.63 billion USD) in all, with online sales making up 15.2 percent compared to 15.1 percent in September.

However, the DOS noted that the value remained below pre-pandemic levels.

Food and beverage services saw sales in October slip by 4.5 percent year-on-year and 5 percent on a seasonally adjusted and monthly basis, as restaurants faced tighter dine-in restrictions./.
