Speaking at the closing ceremony, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi said that the festival was a significant activity that coincided with the 80 th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and opened up a series of events in celebration of 1,000 year-old Thang Long-Hanoi.
With the participation of more than 600 press agencies, the largest number so far, the Spring Newspaper Festival 2010 brought in a special spiritual “food” for people on the occasion of the traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, he said, adding that it also created an ebullient emulation atmosphere among press agencies and journalists nationwide.
Nghi stressed that the Party, State and people always highly value the role of the press – a vanguard in the cause of national defence and construction./.
