Sputnik V vaccine production factory to be built in Vietnam in one year
A factory producing Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine against COVID-19 will be built in Vietnam within one year and is expected to produce 30-40 million doses annually, Chairman of Russian pharmaceutical company Binnopharm Dmitry Zubov told Vietnam News Agency correspondents in Russia.

Moscow (VNA) - A factory producing Russia’s Sputnik V vaccineagainst COVID-19 will be built in Vietnam within one year and is expected toproduce 30-40 million doses annually, Chairman of Russian pharmaceuticalcompany Binnopharm Dmitry Zubov told Vietnam News Agency correspondents inRussia.
Earlier this month, Binnopharm and the Russian DirectInvestment Fund signed a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam’s T&T Groupon the transfer of production technology and the formation of a facility with full cycle production capacity of Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine inVietnam.

According to Zubov, the time of one year for construction isfeasible, as Binnopharm has just built another factory in Belarus in eightmonths.
He said this will be a multi-purpose and closed-cyclefactory using advanced German equipment. It can produce other vaccines as well.
He considers this an important basis for Russia tostrengthen cooperation with Vietnam on pharmaceuticals, thereby entering theSoutheast Asian market./.
The Health Ministry’s Company for Vaccine and Biological Production No.1 (Vabiotech) announced on September 24 that it has successfully produced the first batch of Sputnik V vaccine in Vietnam.
Representatives from Russian and Vietnamese businesses operating in the field of pharmacy and health care exchanged experience and sought technological cooperation opportunities in the fight against COVID-19 at a round-table in Moscow on November 11.
Vietnamese pharmaceutical company VABIOTECH and Sovico Group signed a cooperation agreement with Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) on the supply and production of Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine in Vietnam in Moscow on December 2 with the witness of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
