Taking place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the normalisation of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the US, the event not only marked an important milestone in cooperation between Vietjet and Boeing but also served as a vivid demonstration of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, contributing to the promotion of trade and investment and generating hundreds of thousands of jobs in the US.

Vietjet officially received its first Boeing 737-8 aircraft under an order of 200 jets worth 25 billion USD placed with Boeing. The new aircraft will serve the region’s dynamic market, enhance travel experiences for millions of passengers, and help realise Vietjet’s ambition to expand its global flight network while advancing sustainable regional and international development as a new-generation carrier.

Speaking at the event, Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao stressed that the delivery of the first Boeing aircraft from the historic order is a significant step forward in nearly a decade of cooperation between Vietjet and Boeing. She affirmed that it also represents a new symbol of Vietnam–US relations and of Vietjet’s aspiration to conquer the skies, bringing benefits to the economies and people of both countries.

For her part, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes Stephanie Pope said Boeing is proud to be Vietjet’s aircraft manufacturer, serving one of the most dynamic airlines that has brought groundbreaking innovations to the aviation industry. She noted that this marks the beginning of subsequent deliveries, reaffirming the strong partnership between Vietjet and Boeing as they work together to expand their wings toward a brighter future and contribute to bilateral trade between Vietnam and the US./.
