Street carnival rocks Sam Son at weekend

The street carnival returned to the beach city of Sam Son in the northern province of Thanh Hoa on June 18, attracting thousands of audiences who came to enjoy one of the province’s most fabulous tourism event of the year.

Thanh Hoa (VNA) – The street carnival returned tothe beach city of Sam Son in the northern province of Thanh Hoa on June 18,attracting thousands of audiences who came to enjoy one of the province’s mostfabulous tourism event of the year.

The event was co-hosted by the Sam Son People’s Committee andSun Group.

Nearly 100 entertainers, many of whom are from foreigncountries such as Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Brazil, Moldova, Colombia, Cuba,Argentina and Georgia, paraded through Sam Son’s main streets in colourful costumes.They enthralled the audiences with fascinating and lively dances to the up-tempo versions of variousfamous songs.

On a 2.4km-long road along the beach, the performers stoppedat three stages set up at Hai Ba Trung – Ho Xuan Huong, Le Thanh Tong – Ho XuanHuong and Tay Son – Ho Xuan Huong intersections.

The parade was scheduled to run twice a day, from 4:30pm and6:30pm on June 18 and 19.

It was the third street carnival held in Sam Son, one of themost popular beach destinations in northern Vietnam.

The 8th Sun Fest also took place in Sam Son onJune 18 evening. The music concert featured a number of Vietnamese artists, includingThao Trang and Dinh Manh Ninh./.

Int'l women’s cycling tournaments kick off in Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam drawn with hosts Thailand at ASEAN Futsal Championship 2026

The ASEAN Futsal Championship 2026 is scheduled to take place from April 5 to 11 at the Nonthaburi Provincial Gymnasium in Thailand. The group stage matches will run from April 5 to 7, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals on April 9. The final is set for April 11.

Tam Chuc complex in Ninh Binh granted special national relic status

Ninh Binh will work closely with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, experts, businesses and local communities to ensure sustainable preservation and restoration of the complex. The province also plans to gradually prepare a nomination dossier for “Tam Chuc Complex – Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve” to seek UNESCO World Heritage recognition.
