HCM City (VNA) - A five-day summer camp in Ho Chi Minh City forchildren from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia closed on August 4, spotlighting the solidarity of the threecountries’ kids.

Suphalak Xayyalath from Lao said he was very impressed with destinations he visitedin HCM City, especially the historical site of Cu Chi Tunnels.

Meanwhile, Chen Sovansakha from Cambodia said the event offered a good chancefor him to know more things, adding that he made many friends during this event.

Vietnamesedelegate Nguyen Ngoc Hong Giang said she learnt much from Lao and Cambodianfriends.

The programme, the fifth of its kind, was hosted by the city’s Ho Chi MinhCommunist Youth Union.

According to head of the organising board Phan ThiThanh Phuong, the event aimed to promote exchange and deepen solidarity amongchildren of the three countries.

The event saw theparticipation of 57 youths from Cambodian localities, namely Phnom Penh,Battanmbang, Kampot, Svay Rieng, and Kratie; and 54 from the Lao provinces ofVientiane, Champasak, and Attapeu.

Meanwhile, 135 Vietnamese delegates from HCMCity and border provinces such as Kon Tum, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Long An, andKien Giang joined in the programme.

During theprogramme, young delegates offered incense and flowers to President Ho Chi Minhat the municipal Children’s House. They also visited the city’s famousdestinations, including the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Cu Chi Tunnels, the Artinus3D Art Museum, and the river bus route.

In addition, they also joined together in an exchangeprogramme which featured traditional culture and arts of the three nations; andmet with leaders of HCM City.-VNA

Vietnamese, Chinese cities to build smart border gate pair

They also consented to promote the development of a cross-border economic cooperation zone through sectoral cooperation at Hai Yen industrial park, Van Ninh international port in Mong Cai; a cross-border e-commerce industrial park; and transport connectivity projects between the two cities including the international railway line from Mong Cai to Dongxing, Bac Luan III bridge, and an auxiliary rough steel bridge.
