The Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper held a talk in Hanoion April 17 on orientations for building socialism in Vietnam .
During the talk, theoretical researchers from the Communist Party ofVietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Theoretical Council and the Ho ChiMinh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration stressedthat advancing to socialism is an aspiration of the Vietnamese peopleand a right choice of the CPV and President Ho Chi Minh, which issuitable to the history’s development trend.
Therich reality and achievements attained during 25 years of renewal andthe 20-year implementation of the platform on national construction inthe transitional period to socialism prove that the CPV’s renewal policyis sound and creative, and that advancing to socialism is suitable toobjective rules and Vietnam ’s revolutionary reality.
Only socialism can ensure a real independence and freedom for theVietnamese nation, a prosperous development for the country and a welloff and happy life for the people, the participants stressed.
The theoricians analysed basic orientations for building socialism inVietnam defined in the documents of the 11 th National Party Congress,including speeding up national industrialisation and modernisation incombination with developing a knowledge-based economy and protectingnatural resources and the environment; developing asocialist-oriented economy and building an advanced culture imbued withnational identities.
They also discussedorientations to improve people’s living standards and realise socialprogress and equality; firmly ensure national defence and security, andsocial order and safety; implement a foreign policy of independence,self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, activeand proactive international integration; and building a socialistdemocracy.
The talk also helped popularise anddisseminate among people the basic contents of the 11 th National PartyCongress’ documents./.
