Vientiane (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Manh Hung has recently been invited as the main speaker at a talk on late President Ho Chi Minh at the Lao Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on May 27.

The talk was part of activities in Laos to mark the 126th birth anniversary of the late Vietnamese President (May 19, 1890).

At the event, Ambassador Hung highlighted the revolutionary life and career of the late President, who is the great teacher of the Vietnamese revolution, the beloved leader of the Vietnamese nation and an outstanding activist of the international communist and national liberation movements.

The ambassador stressed that it was President Ho Chi Minh together with Lao Presidents Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong who laid the foundation for the special solidarity between the people of the two nations.

The special ties have become a valuable heritage for the two countries, the rule for the existence and development of each country’s revolution and an important resource for their national construction and defence, he said.

Lao Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Sommat Phonselna expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Ambassador for his sharing of the President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts and morality.

Through the talks, officials and staff from his ministry have gained a deeper understanding of the late Vietnamese President as well as the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, he said.-VNA
