Vientiane (VNA) –
Laos appreciated the Vietnamese Party’s support for training personnel for the country’s political system, said Phankham Viphavanh, a politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee.

He made the statement during a recent meeting with a visiting delegation from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (NPA), led by NPA Director Nguyen Xuan Thang.

He lauded a project on translating the complete works of late President Ho Chi Minh from Vietnamese into Lao , which is jointly implemented by NPA and the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration.

He suggested the two academies boost cooperation in human resources training that should focus on both ideology education and capacity building.

The Vietnamese delegation visited Laos from May 9-12 to mark the beginning of the joint translation project.

During their stay, they also met with Kykeo Khaykhamphithun, head of the Lao Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Education and presented 20 computer sets to the agency.-VNA
