Hundreds of demonstrators from a group called
“People’s Army” have moved from Lumpini park to settle outside the
Government House since the night of October 7, causing traffic
obstruction in the area.
They said the demonstration is to
protest the alleged control of ousted former Prime Minister Thaksin
Shinawatra over the current Government’s operation.
Demonstrations have broken out since the proposal of an amnesty bill by
the Government of incumbent Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, who is
Thaksin Shinawatra’s younger sister.
The bill is believed to clear charges against Thaksin, who was toppled in 2006.-VNA
