Thailand’s general election will be held on July 3 after the Kingendorsed a royal decree to dissolve the Lower House, Governmentspokesperson Panitan Wattanyagorn said on May 9.
The royal decree was submitted to King Bhumibol Adulyadej on May 6 byPrime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva in which he asked for the organisationof an early election.
The same day, the ThaiConstitutional Court ruled that the three new organic laws onelection were constitutional, paving the way for PM to dissolve theHouse and the election to be held constitutionally./.
