The royal decree was submitted to King Bhumibol Adulyadej on May 6 byPrime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva in which he asked for the organisationof an early election.

The same day, the ThaiConstitutional Court ruled that the three new organic laws onelection were constitutional, paving the way for PM to dissolve theHouse and the election to be held constitutionally./.
