The rate of malnourished children under five years old in fourmountainous communes in the northern province of Thai Nguyen in 2015reduced by 3-5 percent from 24 percent in 2012.
Theannouncement was made during a meeting on June 23 to review a programmefunded by the Aide et Action (AEA) organisation on nutrition andparenting education in Thai Nguyen.
The programmewas carried out from 2012 to 2015 in four pre-schools in Phu Tien, TrungHoi, Bao Cuong and Phuc Chu communes of Dinh Hoa district.
After four years, the programme contributed to developing positivebehaviours and attitudes of parents in childcare and education as wellas raising community awareness of preventing malnutrition in children.
At the meeting, participants suggested expanding the programme to 20 pre-schools in the district.-VNA
