Thailand introduces 100 THB tourism package

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) along with the private sector is organising a tourism exhibition that offers a cheap promotional package tour costing only 100 THB for weekend trips.

TATlaunched the “An unordinary, ordinary day” 2014 campaign under theconcept of one price for all weekdays. The campaign hopes to boostdomestic tourism and is catered for business owners, elderly people, andoffice workers who spend their vacation with their families onweekdays.

An organised event will be held from May 15-18 at theQueen Sirikit National Convention Centre where business operators ofhotels, resorts, golf courses, airlines, and tourism attraction willprovide promotional tourism packages ranging from 1,000 THB to 4,000THB.

Other tourist activities include packages for diving andgolfing, as well as sales of low-priced products. Over 200,000 peopleare expected to attend the event and generate over 300 million THB inrevenue.-VNA

In the decree issued on February 25, Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni ordered the establishment of three sites where genocide crimes occurred in the country, namely the former M-13 prison in Kampong Chhnang and Kampong Speu provinces, and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, and the Choeung Ek Genocide Centre in Phnom Penh.

Cambodia criminalises denial of Pol Pot crimes

Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni has officially enacted a law criminalising the denial of crimes committed under the Democratic Kampuchea regime, under which individuals who refuse to acknowledge the atrocities of the Pol Pot-led genocide could face prison sentences ranging from one to five years.
