Thailand has invited foreign diplomats in the country to the site where the anti-government protestors plan a massive rally known as the “final showdown" on December 9, to observe how the Government will handle the incidence.
The diplomats will see for themselves that the government will adopt peaceful measures in line with international standards to cope with the demonstrators, Chief of the National Security Council Paradorn Pattanatabutr said.
The diplomats are to gather at the Foreign Ministry before heading to the Government House, where the massive rally is expected to take place.
Reportedly diplomats from about 60 countries have been invited, and about 30 countries have accepted the invitation.
In another development, all parliament members of Thailand’s opposition Democracy Party have resigned and will join the mass rally on Dec. 9 against Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s government.-VNA
