Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has announced the results of its market survey, indicating that Thailand is the world's number one destination for the MICE industry.

TCEB President Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, said that according to the bureau’s recent market survey, Thailand is the most popular choice for MICE (meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions), followed by Japan in second place and Singapore in third.

Chiruit also announced that the country will host international events organised by the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) and the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) next year, showcasing the country's potential as the prominent MICE destination in Southeast Asia. He indicated that the growth of the MICE industry will benefit the country.

CEO of Custom Asia Company Limited Sukit Tanskul asserted that Thailand has to maintain its lead in the MICE industry by looking for new business opportunities and securing long-term brand loyalty to Thailand.

He cited the market survey, which revealed three areas in which the country should focus, including satisfying basic infrastructure requirements; improving hospitality and cuisine; and creating unique experiences.-VNA
