A Thai court has issued an arrest warrant for a 32-year-old Pakistani man in connection with the deadly bombing at Bangkok 's Erawan shrine last month, said Thai police spokesman Prawut Thavornsiri. 

Prawut said on September 17 that a photo of Abdul Tawab , who is facing a charge of illegally possessing explosive ordnance device s and military hardware , was found in a passport seized by police from an apartment in northern Bangkok. Witnesses placed Tawab in the apartment in Nong Chok, where bomb-making materials were discovered.

Tawab was also seen with Mieraili Yusufu who was arrested as the main suspect in the case, Prawut said, adding that the Pakistani man helped some suspects of the bombing to escape.

The blast at Bangkok's Erawan shrine on Aug ust 17 killed 20 people and injured more than 100 more.

A second explosion took place the following day at a Bangkok pier, injuring nobody.-VNA
