Thailand sends arrest warrant for Thaksin to 187 countries

DSI director-general Tharit Pengdit said on June 1 that relevant Thai agencies, including the foreign ministry, are stepping up joint efforts to extradite Thaksin back to Thailand for charges of corruption and abuse of power.
But, the DSI did not set a time frame for Thaksin’s extradition since this would depend on how those countries respond to the Thai government’s request.
Earlier on May 25, the Criminal Court of Thailand approved an arrest warrant for Thaksin on terrorism charges in connection with violent protest of Red Shirts.
Thaksin was ousted by the military coup in September, 2006, in accusation of massive corruption, and kept in exile since then./.
