Niwatthamrong was acting Deputy PM and Commerce Minister underYingluck’s caretaker cabinet. He used to work as a top executive of theShin Corporation, a privately-owned conglomerate belonging to theShinawatra family.
Thailand’sConstitutional Court decided to remove Yingluck from her positionafter finding her guilty of abusing power by sanctioning the removal of asecurity chief in 2011.
Nine other caretaker cabinet membershave also been removed from office for their involvement in droppingSecurity Council chief Thawil Pliensri from his position.-VNA
