Three arrested for smuggling 46kg of crystal meth from Laos into Vietnam

Border guards in the central province of Quang Tri have busted a trans-border drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam, seizing 46kg of crystal meth, the provincial Border Guard Command announced on August 23.

Quang Tri (VNA) – Border guards in the centralprovince of Quang Tri have busted a trans-border drug trafficking ring fromLaos to Vietnam, seizing 46kg of crystal meth, the provincial Border GuardCommand announced on August 23.

Two traffickers were arrested in Ka Tieng Village, Huong VietCommune, Huong Hoa District at around 4:05pm after being caught red-handedcarrying the drugs, a pistol and six bullets.

Another person involving in the ring was takeninto custody few hours later while being on a Laos-registered car.

The case is under further investigation./.

At about 10:15 pm on July 20, officers from the Operations Division of the Nghe An Border Guard Command and the Nam Can International Border Gate Border Guard Station, in coordination with customs officers at the Nam Can International Border Gate, caught a resident of Tan Tien hamlet, Chieu Luu commune, Nghe An province, allegedly transporting narcotics in Tien Tieu hamlet, Nam Can commune.
