Thua Thien-Hue, Savannakhet continue cooperation

Authorities of Vietnam’s central Thua Thien Hue province and the Lao neighbor, Savannakhet, have agreed to continue with cooperation in a wide range of fields.
Authorities of Vietnam’s central Thua Thien Hue province and the Laoneighbor, Savannakhet, have agreed to continue with cooperation in awide range of fields.

During their talks in thecity of Hue on August 7, Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue People’sCommittee Nguyen Van Cao said that his province is focusing on upgradinginfrastructure, encompassing highways in the East-West economicdevelopment corridor, Chan May port, and trade border gates with Laolocalities.

He suggested the two provincesstrengthen investment cooperation to spur economic development in theEast-West economic corridor, launch cultural exchanges, along withpromoting link in education-training and technical assistance betweenuniversities and colleges.

In response, Secretary ofthe Savannakhet provincial Party Committee Xuphan Keomixay proposedThua Thien-Hue encouraging investments in industry, trade and tourismin Savannakhet.

The two leaders agreed to facilitateinvestments of entrepreneurs of both sides and direct local authoritiesto promptly realise reached cooperative terms.

At the talks, they reviewed the collaboration under the memorandum of understanding signed in 2011.-VNA
