Top legislator chairs meeting on land use planning

Hanoi (VNA) – The national land useplanning scheme must ensure thrifty, effective and sustainable use of land resources, NationalAssembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said at a meeting with the NA’s Economic Committeeon September 23.

The top legislator was reported on the national landuse planning scheme for 2021-2030 with a vision towards 2050, and the 2021-2025 landuse plan.

Hue emphasised the significance of land resourceswhich are associated with urban development, infrastructure, environment, andnational defence and security.

The national land use planning scheme, therefore, mustserve as a ground for planning schemes of sectors, regions and localities, andcreate regional connectivity, the NA leader said.

The scheme and the land use plan are scheduled to besubmitted to the second meeting of the 15th legislature.

Deputies looked into objectives set in the documents,and exchanged their views in this regard, saying it is a must to ensure publicityand transparency in land management and use, and fix shortcomingsover the past time.

Hue expressed his support for the Government’s views onthe scheme and the plan, and suggested supplementing land resources’ role to thecountry’s sustainable development, in accordance with socio-economic developmentstrategies of the country and localities./.
