Hanoi(VNA) - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, who is the Presidentof the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) for the 2017-2018 tenure, chaireda dress rehearsal for the 26th Annual Meeting of the APPF (APPF-26) on January16.
The NA leader askedsub-committees to coordinate closely together in reviewing all preparation workand drawing lessons in dealing with any contingencies.
Along with contents ofthe meeting, the organising board should carefully prepare reception, logisticsand communication activities, thus ensuring the success of the event, she said.
The APPF-26 will takeplace in Hanoi from January 18-21. This is the second time the Vietnamese NAhas hosted the meeting after the APPF-13 in Ha Long city, the northern provinceof Quang Ninh in January 2005.
The hosting of theevent shows the role and responsibility of the Vietnamese parliament in theAPPF, while promoting the image of a legislature of reform, dynamism,activeness and responsibility.-VNA
