Universities step up cooperation in technical training

Nearly 200 delegates from 55 domestic and foreign universities are participating in the 2018 CDIO Asian Regional Meeting in the central city of Da Nang from March 12-14 to boost cooperation in technical training.

Da Nang (VNA) – Nearly 200 delegatesfrom 55 domestic and foreign universities are participating in the 2018 CDIOAsian Regional Meeting in the central city of Da Nang from March 12-14 to boostcooperation in technical training.

Attendants including members of the conceiving,designing, implementing and operating (CDIO) association, educationalists andentrepreneurs shared experience in training engineers, promoting artificialintelligence, and building smart cities.

The CDIO Academy Innovation Competition 2018 washeld as part of the meeting with the participation of 18 international studentsand 22 Vietnamese students.

In 2017, students from Duy Tan University – thehost of this year’s event – won a berth at the CDIO Academy InnovationCompetition in Canada.

CDIO is a new initiative for education, a systemof methods and ways of collecting knowledge, skills in trainingstudents in order to respond requirements of business and society.

Formed in 2000 by the US Massachusetts Instituteof Technology (MIT), the network of universities applying CDIO in the world hasbeen expanding, especially in the US and Northern Europe.

To date, the global CDIO association has over100 members as leading technological universities. The CDIO association in Asiahas 28 members. In Vietnam, five universities were admitted to membership inthe CDIO association, namely the HCM City-based Vietnam National University,Duy Tan University, Thu Dau Mot University, Da Lat University and FPTUniversity.-VNA
