Deputy PM: STEM classrooms help students explore science, technology

The STEM classrooms should serve as meaningful and practical spaces where students can explore, experience and access knowledge, strengthen creative capacity and critical thinking, and achieve breakthrough learning outcomes that contribute to national development, said Deputy PM Pham Thi Thanh Tra.

Lao Cai (VNA) — Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra on December 17 attended the inauguration of a STEM education practice classroom at Nguyen Hue High School in Yen Bai ward, Lao Cai province, highlighting the role of hands-on learning in fostering creativity and innovation among students.

The classroom is part of the Vietnam National Industry–Energy Group (Petrovietnam)'s programme to present 100 internationally standardised STEM classrooms to schools in 34 provinces and cities across the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tra stressed that as Vietnam pursues breakthrough efforts to move into a new era driven by science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, Petrovietnam’s practical support for education and innovation carries significant meaning.

She expressed her hope that STEM classrooms would help realise the principle of “learning goes hand in hand with practice,” noting that “practice” today means scientific knowledge, creative thinking and aspiration. The classrooms should serve as meaningful and practical spaces where students can explore, experience and access knowledge, strengthen creative capacity and critical thinking, and achieve breakthrough learning outcomes that contribute to national development.

On the occasion, the Deputy PM and Petrovietnam presented gifts to the school and awarded 30 scholarships to outstanding students./.

Hanoi: 95% of administrative procedures to be handled from home

The plan targets that at least 80% of administrative procedures under the city’s authority will be provided as fully online public services, while more than 95% of applications will be received and processed entirely online. By June 30, 2026, about 80% of administrative procedures are expected to be restructured based on integrated data systems, with the figure rising to 95% by the end of the year.
