A delegation representing the President of the United States, led by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, visited Vietnam on the evening of July 27 to pay respects to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. They visited the official residence at No. 5 Thien Quang Street in Hanoi to offer incense and express their condolences to the late leader's family.
The Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN) welcomed nearly 100 delegations during the two days of national mourning to pay their respects, wrote in the condolence book and express sorrow and gratitude for Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at its headquarters in New York on July 25 and 26.
Throughout his lifetime, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong always showed deep affection for Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union members and children. Whenever meeting them, he kindly offered his encouragements and conveyed the trust of the Party, State, and people to the younger generation - the future of the nation.
Holding numerous important positions assigned by the Party and the State, including Chairman of the National Assembly during the 11th and 12th tenures, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong provided comprehensive, objective, and profound guidance on the organisation and activities of the legislative body. He also directed innovations to ensure that the legislative body stands strong and operates effectively, truly deserving to be "the representative of the people's will and aspirations."
