Vietnam Fatherland Front: Strong innovation in activities and operational methods

Over 43 years with eight national congresses, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has continuously innovated its activities and operational methods, while constantly promoting its role in the nation’s revolutionary cause during the new era.

In its congress held in Ho Chi Minh City from January 31 to February 4, 1977, the Vietnam National United Front (VNUF) decided to merge the three organizations, including the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the National Liberation Front for South Vietnam, and the Alliance of National, Democratic and Peace Forces of Vietnam, into a common agency called Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF). The congress introduced 191 members to the VFF Central Committee. The Presidium consisted of 45 members, with comrade Ton Duc Thang as Honorary President, and comrade Hoang Quoc Viet as President.
