Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam Airlines has officially introduced a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a special livery featuring the chim Lac (Lac bird) – a sacred symbol of the Vietnamese culture that is deeply connected to the nation’s origins and embodies aspirations for growth and longevity.

The move came in celebration of the national flag carrier’s 30th founding anniversary and ahead of the Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers' Day (May 1) holiday.

As the country is entering a new development phase with a focus on promoting Vietnamese cultural values and human potential as pillars for sustainable development as outlined in the 13th National Party Congress’s documents, the airline’s decision to showcase the Lac bird livery on one of the world's most advanced aircraft demonstrates the spirit in a creative and responsible manner.

The Lac bird is not only an artistic image but also a cultural declaration, expressing a hope for a prosperous future and the breakthrough and longevity of the Vietnamese people in the flow of globalisation. The livery serves as both a cultural symbol and an affirmation of Vietnam's desires for growth, integration, and cultural identity assertion in the global skies.

The Boeing 787-9 aircraft featuring the Lac bird livery will operate on key domestic and international routes, becoming a special "cultural ambassador" helping spread the image of a modern Vietnam with rich cultural identity to friends across five continents. With the livery, Vietnam Airlines conveys a profound message that the country takes pride in its cultural heritage and stands ready to conquer the global skies with modern intrinsic strength, pioneering technology, and distinctive identity.

Over the past three decades, the airline has transported hundreds of millions of passengers, traversing over 3 billion kilometres connecting Vietnam with more than 30 international destinations. Each flight is not only a journey but also a bridge connecting Vietnamese souls, culture, and aspirations with the world.

In the new era where traditional values, technology, and emotions intersect to create distinction, Vietnam Airlines continues affirming its mission as the national flag carrier – a source of the national pride, a symbol of the Vietnamese identity, and a reliable companion on the journey to “take off with the nation" towards a prosperous future./.
