Hanoi (VNA) – National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on April 8 operated a special flight carrying nearly 30 tonnes of relief supplies to Myanmar, which has been recently hit by a powerful earthquake.
Flight VN9711 departed from Noi Bai International Airport at 1 p.m., transporting aid provided by Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence and Ministry of Public Security. The shipment included essential goods such as dry food, personal tents, and emergency equipment.
Earlier in the day, military and police vehicles delivered the cargo to Vietnam Airlines’ warehouse for final checks and packaging. Strict security procedures were followed to ensure the safe handling of the goods before loading onto the aircraft.
In a follow-up operation, flight VN9712 is expected to bring home more than 100 Vietnamese rescue personnel and eight service dogs in the evening, after the completion of their relief mission in Myanmar./.
