A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) headed by VuongThua Phong, Deputy Director of the CPV Central Committee Commission forExternal Relations, attended a special gathering of the InternationalConference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Nanning, China, fromSept. 2-6.
The conference was held by ICAPP in coordination with the CommunistParty of China, under the theme “Development and People's Access:Deliver the Fruits of Development to the People”.
More than 50political parties from almost 30 countries in the Asia-Pacific regiondiscussed and exchanged experience in sharing development achievementsthrough provision of healthcare, education, employment and povertyreduction.
Participants highlighted the role and responsibilitiesof governments in creating opportunities for equitable access to thebenefits of development.
The Vietnamese head delegate informedthe conference about Vietnam’s priority policies, achievements andexperiences in ensuring a strong connection between economic developmentand social progress and equality.
The conference issued theNanning declaration, calling on Asian political parties to accelerateinternational cooperation in social development and sharing, creatingopportunities for people to access development achievements.
Onthe sidelines of the conference, the Vietnamese delegation also attendedthe meeting of the ICAPP Standing Committee and exchanged views toboost relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and otherpolitical parties in Asia./.
