Vietnam attends ITU Telecom World 2019 in Hungary

Budapest (VNA) – Vietnam is joining more than 100 other countriesand territories at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) TelecomWorld 2019, taking place in Budapest from September 9-12.

Themed “Innovating together: connectivity that matters”, the exhibitionfeatures a wide range of events, including an exhibition on the latest ICTproducts and technologies, a high-level forum on 5G network implementation, ITUTelecom World Awards, and a networking programme for small- and medium-sizedcompanies.

Speaking at the opening ceremony as the host for the ITU Telecom World in 2020,Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung laid stress on thesignificance of the ICT in the digital world, and said all countries need tojoin hands to make changes in technologies as well as outline strategies tocreate new values.

He took the occasion to invite ITU members and international organisations toattend the event in Vietnam next year.

The minister affirmed that Vietnam is striving to shift telecommunications toICT infrastructure, with a national digital transformation strategy thatincludes the engagement of the Government, businesses and society.-VNA
