Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem has attended the unofficial ASEAN Foreign Ministers Conference on Sept. 26 in New York.

At the conference, on the sidelines of the 64 th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers discussed and gave their opinions on the preparations for the 15 th ASEAN Summit scheduled from Oct. 23-25 in Thailand as well as a number of other important tasks relating to ASEAN’s foreign affairs.

At the meeting between the ASEAN FMs, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the President of the 64 th session of the UN General Assembly Ali Treki, the discussion focused on ways of enhancing the ASEAN-UN relationship and the delegates also exchanged their views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.

They agreed that the third ASEAN-UN Summit will be held in Vietnam in 2010./.
