President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Vu Xuan Hong received a visiting delegation of the Australia-Vietnam Friendship Association, led by its president Paul Noak, in Hanoi on July 18.
Hong expressed his wish that the visit would contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries and the Australia-Vietnam Friendship Association would continue to support Vietnamese Agent Orange victims and Vietnamese children.
Paul Noak said that since the association’s establishment in September 2010, it had actively supported the National Fund for Vietnamese Children and families of Agent Orange victims while assisting the exchange of culture, education and training between Australia and Vietnam .
He expressed his wish to boost cooperation with Vietnam ’s friendship associations and affirmed that this visit, the first since the association’s foundation, was aimed at improving relations between the two sides.
While in Vietnam from July 17-20, the delegation was scheduled to work with the National Fund for Vietnamese Children and pay a floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum./.
